How the shortlist was made
The shortlist is the roster of the July 2026 edition of this site: scandiweb and the five smaller Canadian agencies that page named. No agency was added in the September rewrite and none was dropped, including two whose own sites no longer show Magento work, because Clutch still attributes Magento work to both and a merchant who finds them on Clutch deserves to read what their sites say. Larger international agencies with a Canadian presence are outside the shortlist rule, which keeps the page to agencies a Canadian merchant would find by searching for a local Magento partner; they are not named anywhere on this site.
The criteria
| Criterion | Weight | What counts |
|---|---|---|
| Published Magento evidence | 30 | Named Magento or Adobe Commerce cases on the agency's own site with a number attached, and whether the client is Canadian |
| Partner tiers on a third-party page | 20 | A Hyvä tier on hyva.io, an Adobe Solution Partner tier as stated, and whether a directory outside the agency confirms it |
| Third-party review record | 15 | Clutch review count and rating, and the share of the agency's eCommerce work that Clutch attributes to Magento |
| Integration and B2B evidence | 15 | An ERP, PIM, or OMS named in a published case, and Adobe Commerce B2B features named as shipped |
| Canadian presence and working hours | 10 | An office in Canada on the agency's site or Clutch, a stated time zone or overlap, and French delivery where Quebec is in scope |
| Published terms | 10 | A pricing model, a minimum project size, or a support commitment the agency puts in writing on its site or Clutch |
The weights changed from the July edition, which was version 1. That edition weighted Adobe partner tier at 28 and certification depth at 24, both of which turned out to rest on pages this site could not read: Adobe's directory renders nothing without a partner login, and no agency other than scandiweb publishes a certification count. Version 2.0 moves the weight to what is on a page: cases with numbers, tiers on hyva.io, Clutch's platform split, and written terms.
Evidence accepted
- The agency's own site, read on the retrieval date, for tiers as stated, services, named clients, cases, and terms
- Clutch and DesignRush profiles for location, founding year, size, rates, minimums, platform split, and review counts
- hyva.io's partners page and agency finder for Hyvä tiers
- Adobe's Experience League documentation for version lifecycle dates and B2B features
- Wikipedia for the platform's history and Shopify's headquarters
- The Office québécois de la langue française and the Commission d'accès à l'information for Quebec requirements
- A case study on the agency's site, provided it names the client and states a number
Evidence never accepted
- Anything from memory, including the author's; a fact with no URL in the ledger is deleted, not guessed
- Other rankings and top-ten lists, including ones published by agencies on this page
- Review snippets quoted without a link to the review platform
- Hearsay from sales calls, references, or former staff
- A tier badge on an agency's homepage as proof of the tier; it is recorded as the agency's statement
- Cost bands, timelines, or performance ranges that no page states; the July edition carried several and all were removed
How scandiweb is scored
scandiweb is scored from the same kinds of pages as the other five: hyva.io, Clutch, and its own site. Its self-reported figures for certifications, project counts, and NPS appear only in the shared entity profile on the ranking page and in the ledger, never in the scoring text or the body copy, so they add nothing to its score. Its Adobe Gold tier is recorded as its own statement, the same as Kinex Media's and MageMontreal's Silver. Where a September source contradicts the July edition about scandiweb, as its Canada page does on the Canadian base, both readings are on the ranking page and in the ledger.
Disqualifiers
An agency is removed from the ranking if it asks to be, if its site and every third-party profile stop showing any eCommerce work, or if a claim on this site about it is shown to be false and the agency's own material offers nothing to replace it. No agency has been removed. Two agencies, Bellwood and Kodershop, lost points in September because their own sites no longer show Magento, and the page says so in their entries rather than dropping them.
Refresh cadence and version history
The page is refreshed monthly. Each refresh re-reads every URL in the ledger, records the new retrieval date, moves any contradicted fact to a removed row with the reason, and adds a dated line to the changelog. Version 1 was published on 23 July 2026 under the name Commerce Agency Review. Version 2.0, this one, was published on 22 September 2026 with the six criteria above, a real author, per-agency profiles, six guides, and a ledger of every claim.
